Initially, most parts of Hyderabad were administered under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). However, with rapid urban development, especially in the western IT corridor and peripheral residential areas, administrative restructuring has been introduced by merging nearby municipalities and municipal corporations to improve governance and decentralize operations.
New Municipal Corporations of Hyderabad
The urban administration of Hyderabad is currently organized into three major municipal corporations. Each corporation is responsible for managing civic services such as sanitation, infrastructure, public health, and urban planning within its respective jurisdiction.
CMC
Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) focuses on the western region, which includes major IT hubs and rapidly developing localities. It have 3 zones with 16 circle which spread across 76 Wards.
GHMC
GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) governs the core areas of the city and handles a significant portion of municipal operations. It have 6 Zones with 30 circles which are furthure divided into 150 Wards
MMC
Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) oversees the eastern and northern parts of Hyderabad, which are experiencing steady residential growth. It have 3 zones with 14 circle which spread across 74 Wards.
Administrative Structure
